Discovery Cove Guide
While there is much to do and see at this park, here is our countdown of must-do's at Discovery Cove Orlando.
1. Dolphin Swim Experience - For many this is the highlight of their time at Discovery Cove, and often of their entire Orlando trip. Participants enjoy a 30 minute interactive session in the water with bottlenose dolphins. The experience is a group activity, with one trainer and approximately 6-8 guests per group. You must be 6 years of age or older to participate in this activity.
Tip: A photographer will be taking photos of your experiences throughout the day with good quality photos. The CD’s can be expensive to purchase, but you can split the cost with others in your group.
2. Explorer’s Aviary – A lush, tropical, natural habitat for birds. You’ll find all sorts of interesting birds soaring above and around you. Feeding the birds is included in the price of admission, and they are ready to eat!
3. Serenity Bay - This is not your ordinary swimming pool! With natural sand beaches and waterfalls it’s easy to forget you are in an 86 degree freshwater pool. Very large pool has beach chairs for those who prefer a more relaxing beach experience or a comfy place to keep an eye on the little ones.
4. Tropical Reef – an amazing snorkeling adventure. In this reef some visitors say they see more fish than in any other part of the world they have snorkeled. Stingray shallows allows visitors to wade with stingrays and even touch their wings. Wetsuits available.
5. Wind-Away River – This is a neat twist on a lazy river.Clear, very warm water transports you past lush tropical scenery, rocky waterfalls, and an underground cave.
6. SeaVenture - brand new for 2011, this underwater walk is sure to be a popular attraction. New attractions are typically very busy - we advise you to head here first thing in the morning if you want to include this in your plans.
