Discovery Cove Guide
1. Especially for peak times such as summer and holidays, make your reservations at least 30 days before your trip. At busy times of the year it may be difficult to get the day you want without planning ahead.
2. Start your day with the activity you most want to do. It is easy to use your time in the park floating down the lazy river, but then wish you had more time for snorkeling when the day comes to a close.
3. Be prepared for weather. Central Florida can be surprisingly cool at times, and very wet at others. To help prepare for the weather, visit Weather Discovery Cove Orlando, where you can check historical weather data for the month and exact day of your visit. Discovery Cove does have some heated lagoon areas, so not all is lost on those cool days.
4. Get a good night’s rest the night before your adventure. For many this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and you’ll want to meet the day with plenty of energy. If you spend the previous day touring a local theme park, end your day early in the evening to avoid sore muscles and feet.
5. Ask when the different animals will be fed. This is fun to observe and sometimes a family member may be allowed to participate.
6. You are allowed to bring items into the park, but no food or drinks are allowed to be brought in. You can bring your own snorkel and mask but no diving gear. You are required to use the sunscreen they provide in order to protect the animals!
7. Adults interested in alcoholic beverages be sure to bring your ID. As part of the all-inclusive package, beer along with a selection of mixed drinks, are unlimited! You may wish to plan for a designated driver for the day if you plan to take advantage of these offerings.
8. Fussy eaters need not worry about the menu for the all-inclusive day, the offerings are plentiful. In addition to typical burgers and sandwiches, you'll find nicer entree meals and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Ice cream, pretzels, and many snack foods are available as well.
